World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can increase the value of weapons, armors and rings. They also boost extra bonuses like crit chance and PvE damage.
If the weapon's upgrade template ends in %, it will increase 3percent of its previous damage for every time it is upgraded.
The cost of upgrading an item increases as it reaches the item's current level. The cost increases with item's level.
Components
Upgrade components are items that can be put into armor, weapons, and trinkets to provide an additional stat boost or effect when they're used. They can be obtained by crafting, buying from vendors, trading or looting. Certain upgrades have unique cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can be placed in equipment that has a slot to accommodate them; the item must be at the very least upgraded to blue level to allow a component to be used. Upgrade components, unlike other mods can only be applied once. They cannot be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and enrichments are a kind of upgrade component used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or ascended equipment, as well other items that are not ascended. Enrichments and Infusions can be obtained by salvaging ascended equipment or completing a mission in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.
An upgrade can include a suffix or prefix changing the name of the equipment to which it is applied (for examplethe 'Canthan Armor Insignia is changed to Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase an item's Mark Level, or Rarity, allowing players to create stronger versions of the equipment with less Upgrade Crystals than is required to achieve the same level of upgrade through normal methods.
A boost upgrade can change the attack or defense attributes of the weapon or armor. These upgrades can be made using the Portative Forging Station once the player completes the cutscene and defeats the Crazed Mechanic. These upgrades can be obtained by purchasing them from the cash shop or obtaining them from enemies when upgrading other gear.
Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher tier version of an item will be revealed at the next reset. This gives players a reason to upgrade their gear, even in the event that they don't know what will be improved after a reset.
The process of upgrading an item could be expensive and it is likely that the item will be obsolete, or even break, when the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed when an upgrade fails. This is alleviated by the availability cash shop items that can increase or even eliminate the chance of failure, as well as a few upgrades that give a bonus when reinserted into an item.
Glyphs
Glyphs are upgrade elements that can be inserted into special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs can boost the performance of nodes within a radius, which includes any existing affixes. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways, and we recommend getting them to level 15 as soon as possible.
In the final game, you will often find that the most effective way to upgrade your gear is by placing Glyphs. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded straight to level 15 and provide significant boosts to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to reach higher nodes more quickly.
Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced, but Glyphs are the only upgrade component that can be removed and replaced without restriction. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and rebuilt with a Black Lion Salvage Kit.
The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it in your inventory. You can choose to replace it with a different Glyph of the same rank or higher rank, which will increase the value of the glyph.
Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of a Gem Store bundle or purchase, with certain unlimited-use tools and also during Faction Crypt Raids. Each Faction Crypt could drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.
Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs You will need to place them on your gear. Each Glyph will grant a distinct bonus that will boost the stats of a specific set of nodes in the vicinity of the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph, this will either be +40 to one of your primary stats, or +25 to two of your secondary stats.
Utilizing Glyphs Glyph will boost all nodes that are linked to it, so it is recommended to position your Glyphs near key nodes on the Graph to maximize the impact. Druids, for instance, should place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might also want to consider placing them near their most critical damage nodes.
Leveling
The upgrade system of items allows players to boost the stats of specific items by introducing upgraded components. item upgrading is commonly known as "upping". Each upgradeable item comes with a level, which determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items may be leveled to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each item level requires various components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.
Some upgrades require a special ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained from completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or bought from NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe completed will result in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to level the item. Once enough are earned, the upgrade can be claimed and the additional bonuses will be added to the item.
When an item is upgraded by a player it is replaced with a new item of the same type. This means that the same armor piece will become the form of a shield or weapon when upgraded. The new item also has its own set of bonuses. This could be a problem, as it can make the item more expensive if you do not require it.
If the player has enough tokens, they can roll the upgrade of their item. The item will be replaced with an entirely new item that has a level 1 basis and completely different bonuses. This is a good option for certain items, however it shouldn't be performed frequently, since it can waste lots of resources.
Some upgrades can increase their value and allow players to personalize their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides buffs when the player continuously enters or exits the water. This can be upgraded several times, each time increasing the max roll by 10 points. This item is very valuable in PvP. A properly rolled version could be worth as much as 50x the value of the non-upgraded counterpart.
Requirements
The upgrader for items allows players to raise the level of their equipment (armor weapons, armor trinkets, and armor) above ilvl385 by presenting the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces also boost the defense base of that piece, while upgrading weapon items will increase the damage base and the strength and dexterity required to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.
All items can be upgraded up to five times, with the exception of hero gear which can have eight upgrades. Every each time you upgrade an item it has an opportunity to fail. The rate of failure increases as you go beyond the maximum number of upgrades. Failures can cause the item to return to its original state which means that the player has to spend additional items than if they stopped upgrading after the maximum number.
If an item fails to upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it gained like the chance to crit, attack damage, or other effects (such as increased heal over time, or the speed of reloading). However, the player may still continue to use the weapon or armor following the failure.
When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from lowest to the highest. This means that, should a weapon gain an increase in crit chance, the increase is applied prior to any increase in attack damage. Slots is a new attribute that was added to the definitions of items. The value is recalculated every time an upgrade occurs.
The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is based on its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading equipment that is not premium is equal to its base value. For example an item of common use could have five upgrades at a cost. 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance--whereas hero grade items will have a much lower cost for each additional upgrade.
Premium items might require different upgrades than regular gear. For example they might require less sowels, but they will require more minerals and orons. Players will still have to take each piece of gear they wish to upgrade to NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. In addition to the upgrade costs mentioned above, each upgrade will require an individual amount of ingredients needed to upgrade.
